On casting Garry McDonald as Kelvin Chevalier Says Yahoo: "To my way of thinking, the eighth edible wonder of the world could only be credible if presided over by comedy legend Garry McDonald. He is the Australian actor who is the instant embodiment of parody and pathos and therefore for me is the only guy who could be the statesman-like builder of the world famous Sydney Egg House. I've been laughing at, and learning from Garry's work since I was a kid.
